In 2007 Ms. Mascolo-David received a Research Excellence Grant from Central Michigan University in the amount of $95,000.00 (US dollars) to record Francisco Mignone’s 4 "Brazilian Fantasies" for piano and orchestra with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Raymond Harvey, for the White Pine Music recording label. Thus, during May 2008 and August 2009, Ms. Mascolo-David will be on a sabbatical from public performances so that she may complete this most important recording project.
En 2007, Mlle Mascolo-David a reçu un prix d'excellence en recherche de la Central Michigan University d'un montant de $ 95000,00 (US dollars) pour enregistrer les 4 "Fantaisies Brésiliennes" de Francisco Mignone pour piano et orchestre avec l'Orchestre Symphonique de Kalamazoo (Michigan), sous la direction de Raymond Harvey, pour le White Pine Music étiquette d'enregistrement de musique. Ainsi, au cours de Mai 2008 et Août 2009, Mlle Mascolo-David sera sur un congé sabbatique de concerts publiques afin qu'elle puisse completer cet important projet d'enregistrement.

Consequentemente, entre Maio de 2008 e Agosto de 2009, Alexandra Mascolo-David fará uma pequena interrupção na sua actividade concertística para se concentrar exclusivamente na realização deste importante projecto de pesquisa musical.
